A new landmark is now on view in Városliget, Budapest’s largest public park. On the site of a dilapidated and unused offices, a unique architectural masterpiece – House of Music – designed by Sou Fujimoto Architects has come into being with a building with an organically undulating roof canopy perforated with openings, with exteriors featuring our Preva Urbana benches, Nanuk litter bins and Donat illuminated bollards.
Városliget could rightly be called the Central Park of Budapest. The lungs of the city. An area with an urban life breathing with history and greenery. A popular spot to hang out, dating back to 1896. A place furnished with our urban furniture since the beginning of park's revitalization. The first place in Europe to welcome our eBlocq smart benches with lockable boxes and integrated USB socket for charging devices. A park with plenty of places to relax in maximum comfort on our Rivage loungers or to work and socialize on our Preva Urbana benches and Tably modular dining tables. Spotless clean all over. With our Crystal, Minium and Multiminium recycling bins.
There is probably no other branch of art in which the legacy of Hungarian artists would resonate as strongly as in music. Hungary, after all, produced many-well known composers and musicians who made their mark on the world history, such as Ferenc Liszt, Béla Bartók, Zoltán Kodály, György Ligeti and Zoltán Kocsis to name a few. The House of Music is a new institution created to capture the heritage and serve as a venue to host the country’s first comprehensive exhibition presenting the history of music. Selected from among 170 international projects, the iconic building received massive attention in international professional circles shortly after its announcement and was named by CNN and World Architecture Community as one of the ten most anticipated new buildings of the year. As a final result, a truly contemporary architectural masterpiece has come into being of which we are proud to be a part of.
