Tested materials, prepared for any corner of the earth

This durable, repeatedly recyclable, and affordable thermoplastic comes in three distinct finishes. Mínus Black and Mínus White feature subtle speckled contrasts that add texture to the base color, while Mínus Onyx allows for light permeability, making it ideal for natural illumination or backlit applications. Available in matte and gloss finishes, Mínus can be resurfaced over time – sanded down to refresh its appearance or fully recycled when needed. The panels are also offered in various thicknesses, ranging from 5mm to 25mm, providing flexibility for diverse design applications.

In combination with a polyester powder coating, zinc is one of the best possible defenses against corrosion, with a far greater durability than a lacquer or zinc coating alone. Tests have shown that the spontaneous onset of corrosion on a material treated in this way is practically eradicated. As a final surface treatment, we use a polyester lacquer for a subtly matte finish, available in any color from the RAL color chart.

As a standard, we use corrosion-resistant AISI stainless steel, and for more intensive uses we use AISI 316 stainless steel. Their specific chemical composition creates a so-called passive coating on the surface of the steel, protecting it from rusting. They resist atmospheric corrosion even in an industrial setting, as well as waste water and various salts. The surface of the steel is brushed (sanded) or electrochemically buffed. This gives stainless steel products their unmistakeable and highly prized appearance and long life with minimal maintenance.

The absence of any added surface coatings greatly enhances a product’s resistance to machine damage. Subject to the processing technology used, the surface is blasted with an abrasive granulate, giving the material its characteristic matte finish and preventing any incidence of corrosion on the surface. Products made from aluminium profiles are protected against anodizing, preserving its characteristic color. All these pieces can be further finished with a powdered polyester coating in any color of the buyer's choice.

It is mainly used where there is a need to reduce weight, remove internal steel reinforcement or achieve higher concrete durability in aggressive environments. The service life is realistically predicted to be up to 200 years, and together with the reduction in volume and weight, it has a positive effect on environmental sustainability – less demand on the substrate or foundations under concrete furniture, lower costs for transport and handling of large concrete castings.

This is made up of a fine mixture of aggregate, cement, microsilica, water and other ingredients. Unlike traditional concretes, high strength mixes contain polymer fibers to increase flexural and compressive strength. Other advantages of these mixes include excellent flowability, minimal segregation, increased durability, smooth surfaces with no or minimal small bubbles, and partial flexibility. The high strength concrete mix we use achieves a compressive strength of 100Mpa according to laboratory tests.

Neither vibration nor compaction is necessary during the production, which improves the working environment thanks to a positive effect on health and safety at work. SCC was developed in Japan at the end of the 1980s. In Europe the concrete established itself thanks to an international project, financed by the European Union, during 1997–2000. mmcité uses a mixture with comprehensive strength of 80MPa pressure for our concrete cast bench. The backrests of our Satellitebenches are made of SCC. Standard colors are white or light grey.

If wood is used for the production of street furniture, it has to meet the highest demands. All types of wood are carefully chosen, as well as the types of surface treatments. The best possible type of wood is either tropical oiled wood or tropical natural wood. mmcité uses wood that has been legally harvested with FSC certification. The European alternative to tropical wood is black locust and pine wood. Black locust wood has some limitations in comparison to tropical wood and pine wood has to be either treated with stains or pressure impregnated.

It is very reminiscent of wood, but does away with most of wood’s insufficiencies. It comes from Germany, and is called Resysta. It needs barely any maintenance, is pest-and mold-proof, and does not crack. Unlike other composite materials, it looks fantastic and its surface is pleasant to the touch. Resysta already fulfills the majority of the future’s demands for eco-friendly, sustainable materials, and is recycled and fully recyclable. For selected pieces of street furniture, we use hollow tubes which can be reinforced with an additional steel profile.

The top oak layer is impregnated with oil to preserve the natural look of the wood and is available in several variations. Birch multiplex plywood is a waterproof plywood composed of many layers and veneers that are bonded together with glue. The plywood is coated with an oil impregnating primer and a thin-film stain with an oil additive for maximum protection.

It is hard to scratch the glass, it is easily maintained, cannot be damaged with cigarette contact, and it practically does not age. Concern of fragility is unjustified – glass panels can be broken only by using a tool or extreme power. Rear and side walls are made of tempered safety glass (limiting the risk of injury when broken), and roofs are made of safety glass.

A seat equipped with Citépin plugs thermo-regulates a person sitting on the surface and makes the seating more comfortable. The plugs are supplied with a shiny surface in white, light grey, dark grey and black colors, or with a matte surface in light grey and black color. Round Citépin plastic plugs are used on the perforated steel seat of Sinus and Radium benches.

The boards are available in a wide range of colors and motives, and the application of an individual motif is possible as well. The material is resistant to mechanical damage, frost, heat, humidity and water vapors, and it does not corrode. It is a widely used material in architecture due to its great properties.

In addition, they naturally cool the space under the shelter and provide a natural habitat for small animals, thus contributing to the greening of the urban living environment.

These cells are encapsulated in aplastic film to protect them from external factors. The glass panels are made of tempered glass. The combination of the photovoltaic cells, the foil encapsulation and the tempered glass creates a tough, bonded safety glass with photovoltaic cells inside.

The outer layer of the panels is made of a zinc-coated and powder coated steel structure in various RAL colors. The Inner layer is formed by isolating core of QuadCore® or IPN foam. Thanks to the possibility of powder coating the panels and structure, the colors can match and coordinate perfectly. The panels are connected to the roof steel structure using self-taping screws with sealing washers. The assembly is simple and short.

EPDM does not transmit air or water. It is resistant to weather temperatures in the range from -40°C to +100°C without the change of physical, mechanical and chemical properties. For the short term, it resists temperatures up to +130°C; however, the early aging and change of properties have to be taken into account. EPDM is produced at the hardness level of 70±5° ShA. The surface of sealing is smooth and black. EPDM profiles and boards are suitable as sealing of constructional and structural elements thanks to the mechanical, physical and chemical properties and possible permanent deformation, used in various industry fields such as sealing for the automotive industry. The lifespan of rubber profiles and boards is 50 years in common Middle-European climate conditions.

The seat is covered with a water-resistant exterior fabric that is pleasing to the touch and provides seated comfort. The fabric is resistant to ordinary soiling, and it is washable and cleanable with a bleach solution.
