Mmcité furnishes another tram line in Spain, this time in Zaragoza
mmcité was given the challenging task of providing shelters and other equipment for a new tram line, and after a complicated project full of “unsolvable” problems, the shelters are now installed. The design, based on large, clean surface areas with two light poles and a roof planted with grass, is the work of Iñaki Alday, a professor of architecture at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, and was a real challenge, even for the experienced team of mmcité. The unconventional material composition and even some of the functional details required demanding testing in the prototype stage. The project also includes a line of strictly geometrical chairs and benches constructed from wooden sandwich panels. They are located under the shelters and also in adjacent areas.
We are delighted that we were able to participate in this interesting project and try out a slightly different approach to designing transport projects.
