The actual construction of the new care center started in October 2019 with an estimated construction period of 19 months at an estimated cost of NOK 260 million with a gross area of ​​8,000 square meters. The care homes are designed as eight housing associations for eight residents each. A total of 64 homes have been built on the site and the target group is people who have extensive care needs around the clock, on an equal footing with nursing home residents. In a care home, however, each room is defined as a private home, which the individual resident furnishes entirely according to his or her own wishes. The building will also contain a day center for the elderly and offices for the home care service. Day center and home services move into the building during the year.
